As some of you may know, we've been around for a while. The shop has supplied skaters with equipment for the past fourteen years and as such has born witness to almost all of the various metamorphoses that skateboarding has undergone.

Clan Skates was launched in 1988 by Davie Philip and Jamie Blair who were the top two vert skaters in Scotland at the time. Both Davie and Jamie were regularly securing top five/ten placings in British and European competition. In fact, back in the far mists of time, Jamie was the undefeated Scottish bowlriding champion from '78 to '81. Upon retirement this title was secured by Davie many times throughout the 80s.

Skateboarding was a way of life to these two (corny but true).
