In August 1988 Clanskates opened its doors for the first time. Founded by Davie Phillips and Jamie Blair, two Scottish Pro skateboarders, sponsored at the time by Zorlac and Schmitt Stix.
In 1989 Clanskates won the Readers Digest New UK Business award with prize money of £6000. Kerching!
On the same night that we were announced as winners the shop was broken into and virtually the entire inventory was stolen.
